The GD-1800 Fully Hydraulic Core Drilling Rig is engineered as an expeditionary colossus, combining 10000 kilograms of rugged masssteel track mobility31.5 MPa high-pressure hydraulics, and 264KW of altitude-compensated power to deliver 1800-meter core samples from anywhere on Earth. It is the rig that goes where the geology leads, no matter the distance, altitude, or difficulty.

Expeditionary capability begins with the reinforced steel track undercarriage. The two-speed transmission allows the operator to select low range for climbing steep, rocky slopes or high range for faster travel on moderate terrain. Remote control operation means the driller can guide the rig from a safe vantage point, navigating around boulders, trees, and cliff edges without exposing personnel to hazards. The wide track stance (2200 mm) and low center of gravity (10000 kg) resist tipping, even on side slopes up to 20 degrees. The extended 6350 mm length provides a longer wheelbase for stability on uneven ground, while the tracks distribute weight to minimize ground pressure. The 10000 kg mass provides the inertia needed to stay planted in high winds or on slippery surfaces.

Power for the expedition is provided by the 264KW six-cylinder diesel engine, which is turbocharged and altitude-compensated to maintain full output up to 4500 meters above sea level. The 31.5 MPa high-pressure hydraulic system delivers exceptional power density, enabling the rig to generate 4500+ N.m of torque and 30+ tons of feed force even in thin air. The air-cooled hydraulic system eliminates the risk of radiator damage from flying debris or freezing in cold climates. Cold-start aids and battery warmers are available for Arctic operations down to –30°C, while oversized coolers handle +50°C desert heat. The standard 13 KW hydraulic generator provides onboard power for lighting, instruments, and communication equipment, increasing self-sufficiency in remote camps.

The four-speed through-hole gearbox with floating main shaft is essential for expeditionary reliability. Thread failures are a common cause of downtime in remote areas where spare pipe is not readily available. The floating shaft extends drill pipe life by 300-500%, ensuring that the expedition does not run out of usable pipe. The four speeds allow the driller to adapt to changing formations without stopping, maintaining progress even in variable geology. The customizable tower length allows the rig to be configured for specific site conditions, reducing the need for civil works.

Durability in extreme conditions is built into every component. The high-strength steel frame and customizable tower are designed to withstand the pounding of rough terrain and the stresses of 1800-meter drilling. Hydraulic hoses are routed protectively and fitted with abrasion-resistant sleeves. Electrical connectors are sealed to IP67 standards against dust and moisture. The steel track undercarriage is fabricated from induction-hardened materials to resist wear from sharp rock fragments. Field serviceability ensures self-sufficiency in remote locations. All service points—oil fills, filters, drains—are grouped and accessible from ground level, eliminating the need for ladders or scaffolds. The air-cooled hydraulic system removes the radiator and coolant from the maintenance equation. The standard hydraulic generator provides power for diagnostic tools and lights, enabling night repairs. When repairs are needed, the modular design allows a faulty component to be isolated and swapped out, minimizing downtime. The floating main shaft gearbox is designed for field service, with accessible bearings and seals.
