1. What's is Transient Electromagnetic Equipment(TEM)?

 

TEM is an inductive geophysical method that uses time-varying magnetic fields to map the electrical conductivity of the subsurface. It does not require direct galvanic (electrical) contact with the ground, and instead uses a transmitter loop on the ground to induce a transient current within the subsurface. The receiver antenna(s) then measure the rate of change of the magnetic field associated with that current as it propagates through the earth.

 

2.What's precautions for Transient Electromagnetic Equipment(TEM)?

A.Arrange transmitting coil and receiving coil in accordance with the requirements of measurements. The extra wires should be released from the wire rack in a straight line or S shape.

 

B.If the displayed waveform is red, meaning the test date is negative, just switch the direction of receiving coil.

 

C.If the test waveform is disordered, the possible interference sources could be: grid system, atmospheric disturbance, electromagnetic equipment or unmatched damping resistance.

 

D.If the instrument works at a new work area (which is far away for the last one), the first synchronization will take longer time, sometimes around 30 minutes.

 

E.Do not place any large metal hyper-polarized object inside transmitting and receiving coil.
