Principle

 

The transient electromagnetic method, called TDEM (Time-Domain Electromagnetic Method) belongs to the group of active electromagnetic methods.

 

The transient electromagnetic method, called TDEM (Time-Domain Electromagnetic Method) belongs to the group of active electromagnetic methods,transient electromagnetics (TEM) method was developed in order to gain information on the subsurface resistance-conductivity. It is applied successfully in mineral and geothermal exploration, in hydrogeology, environmental surveys and the like.

 

The measurement depth ranges between a few and more than 1000m. Measuring depth depend on the size of the used transmitter’s power transmission loop; and the strength of the interference caused by the environment
