Introduction:
1D VRS (Vertical Electrical Resistivity Sounding)
VES, which stands for Vertical Electrical Sounding, is a geophysical method used to determine the electrical resistivity of subsurface materials to a depth of several hundred meters.
With injected DC current into the ground using a pair of electrodes, usually referred to as the current electrodes. The current is then transmitted into the ground, and the resulting voltage is measured using a pair of electrodes, usually referred to as the potential electrodes. The distance between the current and potential electrodes is gradually increased, and measurements are taken at each distance, The resistance of the subsurface material is calculated from the voltage and current measurements.
Geophysical resistivity meter on ground will generate each measured point's apparent resistivity. Base on different apparent resistivity, we can judge what exist in underground.
